Happy 4th (errr, 5th) of July!

We had planned a large BBQ with neighborhood friends at our house on July 4th since we finally got our deck finished. Well, we watched the forecast and it called for thunderstorms on the 4th. We kept our fingers crossed but it just didn't work out. Even the fireworks show and parade were cancelled because of the rain. We decided to postpone until the next day on Sunday and luckily, everyone could still come! We had good food, lots of good friends and fun! I got patriotic tattoos for the kids, little visor hats they could decorate and sparklers. They seemed to have so much fun with it all. We did some fireworks at our house then sat on our front lawn to watch the city fireworks show. The kids didn't seem to pay any attention to the big show but liked all the ones in the street. It was a great night and we were so glad our friends could come.

Probably the closest I'll ever get to doing a "Martha Stewart"
Most of the kids with their "fireworks" hats.
Yea! Sparklers!

Taking it easy the next day. Catching the rays at age 4 (with sunscreen) ;)
One side of our deck.
The other side of our deck.
The whole view. We LOVE being able to be outside and enjoying the summer. Kyle even put in some outdoor speakers for a stereo. Did I mention that he decided to work on that TWO hours before our party was supposed to start?? He ran them into the kitchen and so it was a mess. I was just a little stressed. At least he got it done just in time. :)
